We've all experienced the desire to take some self improvement action that will change our lives, only to fall short just a few weeks later. It might be the decision to lose weight or stop smoking or trying to learn to speak French. In fact, many of us set these kinds of self improvement goals at the beginning of every year.
No matter how determined and excited we were at the time we made our self improvement decision, for some reason, we quickly run out of steam. In a few weeks, we forget our commitment to our goal, and we forget our desire for the outcome.
Why does this happen? More importantly, what can we do to prevent our self improvement resolutions from falling by the wayside?
