I have recommended mind mapping as a terrific learning instrument that can assist you to recollect things in my Physics Tuition Blog.

Well, here are 10 simple steps to creating your mind maps:

 1.  Begin with a blank sheet of paper. It may be any measurement.  A blank one, not the one with lines to restrict how your mind map grows.

2.  Begin with the central topic at the heart of the paper. E.g Kinematics. Use images to enhance the idea.

 3.  Branch out the main ideas from the cCentral topic. E.g Dist/ Disp, Speed/velocity, Acceleration. Use thick branches for the principal ideas. Subsequently, use thinner branches for the sub ideas.

 4.  Use distinctive colours for different branches. This will help it become easier to link and connect ideas.

 5.  Keep one word per branch and keep the word on top of the branch. Keeping it to one word allows for generation of additional ideas.

6.  Put images whenever you can instead of words. You already know a picture speaks a thousand words and you also can remember pictures better than phrases.

7.  Insert arrows or connectors in between branches and ideas showing the linkages between related concepts.

8.  Use capital letters and let your creativity flow with your mind map to enable you retain it significantly better and easier.

9.  You shouldn't be too bothered by repeated ideas or points. you'll link them up later.

10. Lastly HAVE FUN DOING IT. If not you won't do it the very next time.

Below shows an illustration of a mind map. Yours don't have to be similar to it. Don't restrict your creativity to the example. Have a good time creating your first mind map!!!
