Here is a trick question:  If you want to have better brain power, do you think it’s more important to do a lot of reading and studying, or do you think you should also be getting lots of good physical exercise?

The truth is that if you want to get the maximum performance from your brain, you need to exercise not just your mind, but also your body.  For your brain to work most effectively, you should be exercising your thinking as well as getting physical exercise daily. 

Are you surprised to learn that physical exercise will boost your brain power?  

Too often we think that smart people only sit around all day reading and thinking.  The truth is, any person’s brain will benefit if they also include physical activity as part of their daily routine.

Brain cells need to have a good supply of oxygen and glucose for fuel.  A body that is sluggish and under-exercised isn’t going to be as good at delivering oxygen and other nutrients to your brain cells. 

If you don’t get enough exercise, your heart isn’t likely to be in very good shape either.  When your heart isn’t in good shape, it won’t be as efficient at pumping blood through your body.  You may end up suffering from high blood pressure.  When you don’t get enough exercise, you’ll feel sluggish and depressed rather than pumped up and confident. 

Why not try including physical activity in your daily routine for just a few weeks?  You’ll quickly discover how much better you feel when you get regular exercise, and you’ll also be able to think more clearly and effectively.
