Here’s a short little quiz that can help you find out how much you know about your brain. Don't peek at the answers. Try to really discover just how much you know about the brain.
This quiz was written by Steve Gillman who is the author of many articles on how you can improve your brainpower.
The more you learn about your brain, the more you will know how to take care of your brain so that your brainpower lasts a long time. You will also be able to learn how to get a better performance out of the brain you have and you will know how to stay mentally fit.
For example, once you understand that your brain needs a good steady supply of oxygen in order to do all of its many jobs, you will start to realize how important it is to get regular physical exercise. You will realize why keeping a healthy heart can be good for your brain. You will understand why it might be a good idea to stop smoking.
Once you learn how the brain needs to have healthy brain cells with good connections, you can understand why it’s important to keep exercising your mind as well as your body.

About 20% of your blood is pumped to your brain. It needs it to keep up with the heavy metabolic demands of its neurons.

The cerebellum, sometimes called the "little brain", is found at the lower back of the brain. It weighs approximately 150 grams. It is needed to maintain posture, to walk, and to perform any coordinated movements.

Your brain needs a continuous supply of oxygen. A 10 minute loss of oxygen will normally cause significant neural damage.
