Single? New in town? Want to expand your social contacts? Here are some tips to help you create a strong network.
1. Smile.
Not only will this feel good for you, but you will also help others feel appreciated.
You will also put out incredibly warm vibes. Like a cat to sunshine, people enjoy being around warm people.
2. Eye contact.
If you want to meet people, you will need to catch their attention. If you are already engaged in conversation, look them in the eye - you will appear confident and sincere. Avoid staring!
3. Say 'hello'.
Watch people's faces light up and change completely when you greet them with a friendly 'hello'! It is truly amazing. Break the ice by being friendly - they will appreciate it immensely.
4. Think of others.
Get interested in other people. Be curious - find about them, what their interests, their passions. Be an interested listener rather than try to be interesting. People love talking about themselves - let them!
5. Be the kind of person you want to attract.
If you want to attract someone who is in shape and has a healthy lifestyle, be in shape and have a healthy lifestyle. If you want to attract decent, honest, genuine people, be decent, honest, and genuine yourself. If you want to attract good communicators who treat you well, make sure your communication skills are polished, and pay attention to how you treat others.
6. Go where the people you want to attract will be.
If you want to attract someone in business, go to the chamber of Commerce. If you want to meet other professionals, join their professional organization. If you want to meet other skiers, go to the local ski club meeting. If you want to meet people with similar morals, beliefs, and values, try a church, synagogue, temple, etc. It is hard to attract new people when you are sitting home alone watching TV.
7. Invite people out or over to dinner or for coffee.
Make the first move. People love invitations for social engagements. Be a considerate host. People will appreciate your thoughtfulness and consideration.
8. Use a referral/introduction agency.
In Canberra , Genesis has been in operation for more than 11 years, focused on bringing like-minded people together for friendship or romance. The individuals are interviewed extensively prior to being accepted for membership to ascertain likes, dislikes, goals, and ambitions.
Introductions are safe and only after mutual consent. They have a great track record with a huge success rate and many satisfied customers. There are also many web-dating services that are having good results as well. Give it a go!
9. Start a new hobby, or kick-start an old one.
Surf the net for some cool ideas. Ask your friends what they do for fun, and tag along.
10. Be content with yourself, your life.
When you are satisfied with who you are, what you have to offer the world, then you can truly enjoy being in company of others. Stop comparing yourself to others. You are perfect already.
